Swarm Collection
Most beekeepers use swarm control methods to prevent their bees swarming, however these are not always successful. There are also colonies of honeybees living in the wild which will occasionally swarm.
Some beekeepers are willing to provide a swarm collection service.
There are over 250 types of bees in the UK but there is only one European honey bee (Apis mellifera). Only honeybees form swarms. If you have bees on your property, visit our Swarm page to help identify what type of bees they are.
The British Beekeepers’ Association provide more information on how to identify a swarm. They also have an interactive map to help you to locate the nearest registered beekeeper who is willing to remove swarms. Click here to visit the BBKA website
